Porte Royale

Superbly situated in this lovely part of the Bay of Biscay, Porte Royale provides an ideal base for enjoying all the region has to offer. The house is modern, bright and spacious and has been designed to provide a natural flow of light and living space. Guests will delight in the open plan sitting room, with its beamed ceilings, freestanding stove and elegant, suspended corridor. The kitchen is modern and well appointed whilst the dining area is bathed in light from the sliding doors leading onto the terrace.

Porte Royale has four bedrooms; three doubles (two en suite) and one single room with its own deck, outdoor seating area and organic garden with vegetables which guests are welcome to use.

La Rochelle has 86km of cycle lanes and guests are encouraged to make use of the bicycles left at the house. The historic town centre is just ten minutes from the house and is full of charm and style. The daily covered market, which dates back to the 19th Century, is a real highlight. There are numerous restaurants located under the old arch covered streets and squares and the nearest sandy beach is around 15 minute’s walk from the house. Les Sables d’Olonnes, Poitiers, Cognac, and Saintes are all within easy reach by car.
