Wyndham Achieves Five Star Health And Safety With Check Safety First.

9th March 2011 – The prestigious Wyndham Grand, London Chelsea Harbour has implemented health and safety expert, Check Safety First’s online E-Cristal health and safety risk management system to ensure the wellbeing of its guests.
The hotel will be using E-Cristal's full functionality to standardise, improve and support existing standards of health and safety in the hotel. The range of services provided will include general safety, swimming pool safety, Legionella control, fire safety, as well as the central food hygiene product. The Wyndham Grand, London Chelsea Harbour already works with a local food safety specialist, but this new implementation will provide the hotel with a more rounded overview of standards.
"We have spent considerable effort building up the reputation of the hotel to what it is today and I understand how quickly this can be tarnished by not having adequate health and safety processes in place," explains Xavier Montembault, executive assistant manager for food and beverages at The Wyndham Grand, London Chelsea Harbour. "The hotel already has impeccable standards, but the E-Cristal solution provides us with a way of double checking these and ensuring that our guests and staff are protected at all times during their stay."
"What particularly impressed me about the E-Cristal system is that it is managed entirely online and removes the need for excessive paper-based reporting. The system can also be monitored centrally at the Wyndham head office. This is especially important for us moving forward, as it means that we can roll this solution out internationally in all of our hotels ensuring a continuity of standards across the brand," adds Montembault.
Mark Harrington, CEO at Check Safety First, concludes: "The Wyndham, London Chelsea Harbour is a classic example of a high quality hotel whose reputation is vital for their ongoing commercial success. We are delighted to be associated with such an establishment." Once the hotel has successfully demonstrated and maintained a high standard of health and safety it will be listed on the international consumer website www.checksafetyfirst.com.
Check Safety First Launches Free Hotel Health And Safety Reports To Tour Operators.
14 October 2010 – Independent health and safety expert Check Safety First, is making real-time safety reports available to tour operators on the 1,600 hotels it works with, under its new service TourCheck. The free reports will provide travel firms with up-to-date intelligence on the standards of their hotel partners.
Currently hoteliers are inundated with requests for safety reports from tour operators, which puts a huge administrative burden on the establishment. Travel firms also send in their own non-specialist representatives to carry out standards checks on partner hotels, who frequently use a tick box form.
TourCheck will remove this administration burden from hotels by allowing them to download a report from its web-based auditing system, E-Cristal. This will automatically produce a report which includes the essential information required by, and in a format that is suitable for tour operators. These TourCheck reports can be produced by hotels monthly s, providing travel firms with the information on a more frequent basis, with the added assurance that the assessments required to produce the report have been carried out by trained experts.
"Just the food module of the E-Cristal audit has 250 checkpoints. Combine this with the other areas checked by our system, and we have a large amount of data on the hygiene levels of the hotels we work with. It seemed obvious to use this data in a way which would be beneficial to the entire travel industry," explains Jason Burnett, technical director at Check Safety First.
"TourCheck allows hoteliers to answer the growing number of health and safety questions from travel firms immediately. It also improves the due diligence of tour operators, as it provides frequent and up-to-date information, accredited by an independent health and safety expert, that would otherwise have only been gathered on a yearly basis, at least," adds Burnett.
Check Safety First has been working with the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO) to ensure that TourCheck reports provide the correct information that tour operators need.
"We have been getting great feedback from the FTO so far. It has been extremely supportive of the TourCheck scheme and the response we are receiving from our hotel partners is also extremely positive," concludes Burnett.
TourCheck reports are to be made available to Check Safety First’s 1,600 hotels worldwide in January 2011.
